Olympic Team On Short Rations
LONDON, Sun. (11.45 a.m.)— Dr C. R. Woodward, of Middlesex Hospital, today issued a warning that British Olympic Games aspirants were labouring under a great handicap by preparing on insufficient food. Dr Woodward deplored the fact that nothing had been done to arrange for immediate delivery of thousands of food parcels lying packed ready in Australia for despatch to Britain’s Olympic team. The British team manager (Mr Crump) said the Olympic authorities had no knowledge of parcels in Australia awaiting despatch. He added that otters of gift parcels recently received had been gratefully accepted.
Mr Crump did not think that Olympic prospects were as gloomy as Dr Woodward suggested.
