Armed Robber Gets Big Jewel Haul
NEW YORK, Oct. 4,
An armed robber entered the apartment of Mrs Sari Hilton early today and escaped with jewels valued at $750,000. Mrs Hilton is the former wife of Conrad Hilton, the hotel magnate. Mrs Hilton told the police that the robber after stunning her maid with his fist, threatened to shoot Mrs Hilton and her baby if she did not reveal the whereabouts of the jewels. He bound Mrs Hilton to a chair before escaping. Most of the jewellery is understood to be insured.
