Jockey's Appeal Fads

,P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Court of Appeal heard an appeal on behalf of Aubrey Midwood, of Palmerston North, jockey, against a sentence of four month*:’ imprisonment and cancellation of his drivers licence for three years. The sentence was imposed by ml Justice Smith on conviction for failing to stop and render assistance after an accident. Counsel for appellant submitted that the sentence should be reduced on the ground that it was unduly severe in comparison with sentences for similar offences, and that the cancellation of licence would affect appellant unfavourably in his employment as a jockey. The court dismissed the appeal.
