Heavy Entries For Northland Champs.

Entries for the Northland Table Tennis championships which are being held in the Kamo Hall next week are so heavy that it has been found necessary to extend them over three days, commencing on Wednesday. The championships are being sponsored by the Whangarei Table Tennis Association and 66 entries have been received from the Bay of Islands area alone. The programme will intlude A and B grade matches in both men’s and women’s sections, junior matches, men and women’s doubles, and combined doubles. Trophies for competition have been presented by the following: Wilkinson Bros., Wiseman’s Ltd, J. W. Court Ltd, C. Creamer, Farmers’ Trading Co. Ltd, E. Palmer, Fisher and Sons, N. Franklin, E. O. Faber Ltd, K. G. M. Kelly, J. Angelo, and the Commercial Hotel. The Whangarei women’s team, which won the Country Week championship at Auckland comprised Mrs P. Runstrum (Dargaville), Miss D. Bennett, Mrs E. Aldred and Mrs P. Brittcliffe. This event is to be held annually with competition open to all clubs in the Auckland Province.
