Bromwich Easily Disposes Of Mulloy
(1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 12! The Australian champion, Bromwich, today easily disposed of Mulioy, the fourth seeded American entry in the quarter-final of the American tennis championships at Forest Hills. Mulioy raced to a 5 —2 lead in the first set, but then Bromwich took five :games in a row, mainly on Mulloyls errors.
Bromwich allowed the American' only one game in each of the next two sets in which Mulioy made many errors, while the Australian was very steady. . ' ' ... Kramer entered the semi-finals with a clearcut win over Falkenburg. Kramer maintained a barrage of drives and smashes which kept his fellow Californian on the defensive. Falkenburg could not cope with the champion’s explosive service, Parker was too fast and accurate for Segura and he scored some amazing winners from almost hopeless positions. DROBNY SURPRISES The Czechoslovakian, Drobny, surprised with his straight sets victory over Tom Brown. Drobny played an all-round superior game and his service troubled the American. Women’s singles, fourth round, Margaret Osborne beat Mrs Rurac, 6_4, 6—4; Dorris Hart beat Barbara Krase, B—6, 6—2.
