South Island Fresh Meat Quota Cut
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Canterbury Master Butchers’ Association has received notice that its quota of meat will be reduced by 10 per cent as from yesterday. This reduction may be made up with frozen meat.
The decision is the result of a conference between the New Zealand Master Butchers' Association and the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash). The reduction is an attempt to reduce the demand for meat and the price of livestock.
