Europe Aid Figure Only Provisional
(Rec. 10.0 a.m.) PARIS, Sept. 2. Sir Oliver Franks, chairman of the Marshall Plan Committee of European Cooperation, said the figure of £7,250,000,000 which had been mentioned as the total aid Europe required, was purely a provisional figure, used by the statistical group of the conference. The figure did not represent the considered view of the conference and it was improbable that the final figure would be identical.
