New Whangarei Radio Station
(From Our Special Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Broadcasting Department’s annual report states that the new radio station at Whangarei will be Of 10 kilowatt output and that, in view of the shortage of building materials, it is expected to use accommodation of a temporary nature in the meantime.
In view of the definite stand taken by the Minister in charge of Broadcasting, the Kaikohe Chamber of Commerce has abandoned its request that the proposed broadcasting station for Northland should be located near the centre of the peninsula, according to a letter received by the Dargaville Chamber of Commerce.
The kaikohe chamber expressed its appreciation of the support given in the matter by the Dargaville Chamber of Commerce.
