20 Bullocks For Plymouth, England

(Special) HAMILTON, This Day. . Destined to be shipped to Plymouth, England, for distribution among the needy of the city, 20 bullocks have been ordered to be prepared by a retired Hamilton business man (Mr F. W. Burley). The permission of the Government for the bullocks to be shipped has been obtained. Mr Burley was born in Plymouth and during the last few months has sent 300 food parcels to that city. PERSONAL ■Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., senior magistrate in Wellington, will leave the Bench on September 22 to begin his retiring leave. He has been senior magistrate at Wellington since 1938. Mr Stout was appointed a magistrate in 1918 and was stationed in Otago Central and Westport before going to Palmerston North in 1919. From there he went to Wellington. Tlje appointments are announced of Mr Gordon A. Hookings as senior lecturer in mathematics, and of Dr Charles Nalden as lecturer in music, at Auckland University College.
