LINDRUM HAS WOMAN RIVAL
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The world-famous billiardist Horace Lindrum, of Australia, who arrived by the Athenic today to tour New Zealand had a keen rival on board who also lays claim to fame with the cue and ball. What is more, it is a woman. She v/ill return to Britain to compete in the women's world billiards championship. She was asked to remain in Britain and become a member of the Billiards Control Council but decided to make the trip “to help New Zealand and Australia to become the leading countries in the game.”
Lindrum is not perturbed: at this competition. In fact he likes it. The woman is his mother, Mrs Violet Lindrum.
