Bellona Back From Cruise To Russell
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. After completing a 10-day cruise off the northern coast and in the Hauraki Gulf, which included calls at Kawau, Great Barrier Islands and Russell, the Dido-class cruiser Bellona returned to the Devonport naval base yesterday morning.
During the cruise, which was to enable newly-joined ratings to become familiar with the ship, the marines were landed on the Great Barrier for exercises for one day, and two days were spent at HMNZS Tamaki. The cruiser will sail on Monday afternoon for the Pacific Islands, where she will make a winter cruise lasting almost two months.
