SIDELIGHTS ON SHOW COMPETITION
The manager of one firm called in to the "Northern Advocate" yesterday and said: “ had 27 'phone calls, six personal inquiries, and one written one to know the correct name of my firm. "Did you worry?” asked our ad. man. "No," said the manager, “it’s all in a good cause—the Winter Show next week.”
CHECKING UP Two women from the Parakao district, complete with competition forms - , were in the vicinity of the Winter Show buildings this morning. Said one; “We're checking up on initials.” Said the other: "I’ve finished my competition; it's interesting and I hope to have a few extra pounds for Show shopping next week.”
So do we, but we can’t tell you the Results until Saturday June 28.
BE CAREFUL Over 30 solutions were in our lunchtime mail yesterday when a young lady called to hand her copy in.
"Any right yet It's very easy, but f suppose there's some catch in It." No, puzzlers, there's no catch in it, but the caller, like other competitors, was told that carelessness in writing out the solution she sent in might lose her the prize money. Remember no spelling mistakes, no missed initials, no omissions or additions.
