Theft Of Kaitaia Golf Club Beer
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day The theft of a case of beer and six bottles of beer valued at £5/8/-, the property of the Kaitaia Golf Club, was admitted in the Police Court by Ren Joseph Kapa, 21, a labourer. He also pleaded guilty to wilfully committing mischief by damaging a piece of sheet iron and wallboard valued at £2, the property ot the golf club. Senior-Detective Aplin said accused together with an adult and two juveniles, entered the golf club premises by removing part of the roof and ceiling. The three associates had been dealt with at Kaitaia. Accused had not been before a court previously. “My own idea is that you should go to gaol, but I can only treat you as the others were treated at Kaitaia,” said Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M.
On the charge of theft, accused was fined £5, in default ten days’ imprisonment. On the second charge he was placed on probation for 18 months and ordered to make £2 restitution within one week.
