Russia Slams Door On United German Economy
(Received iioon) BERLIN, June 15. THE Russians announced that they had established a new ling of industry and agriculture
authority to coordinate the plan] in the Russian zone of Germany,
The new ordinance establishes an economic council consisting of seven members of the Russian-sponsored Socialist Unity Party. i The council’s decisions will, automatically become law for the wnolr zone.
The Daily Mail’s correspondent says new measures mean that Russia finally slammed the door on British and American hopes of agreement on united German control of Germany's economy.
Russia has taken the final step to split Germany into two’estrangcd territories.
The Times correspondent says Rus-sian-licensed newspapers claimed the new system will facilitate German economic unity, in accordance with the Moscow decisions of the Foreign Ministers.
The correspondent adds that measures which provide for closer cooperation between the central administration and the states Governments will not make much difference because the Russians hold one-third of industry, the states have socialised onethird and neither Russian administrators not the states welcome outside interference. The central administration is therefore likely to be concerned only with th 2 one-third remaining in private hands.
