WET WEATHER LONGER HOURS?

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. When 12 men were charged with drunkenness in the Police Court today, the magistrate (Mr J. H. Luxford) asked whether the longer Saturday drinking hours could be the reason for such charges “reaching double figures again.”

A police sub-inspector expressed the view that the extension of hours, plus Saturday’s wet weather, might be the reason.
