Maori Party Going To Tongan Weddings

(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. A party °f 14 Maoris, including Princess Te Puea Herangi and Mr M. R. Jones, private secretary for native affairs to the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) left Auckland by air this morning to attend the double wedding of Tongan Royalty at Nukualofa on Tuesday.

Princess Te Puea is attending in response to a special invitation received through the Prime Minister of Tonga from Queen Salote, whom she met when Queen Salote visited New Zealand some years ago. This will be Princess Te Puea’s first trip abroad.
