NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER "M'OTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting ot the Whangarei Borough Council, held for that purpose on the 20th day of March, 1947, the following Resolution was passed and it will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held on the 24th day of April, 1947, at 7.25 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Bank Street.

RESOLUTION That the Whangarei Borough Council, acting in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and all other powers and authorities it in any way enabling, doth hereby make the following By-law— SHORT TITLE 1. This By-law may be cited as the Whangarei Borough By-law No. 2G, 1947. COMMENCEMENT 2. This By-law shall come into force on the sth day of May, 1947. EFFECT OF BY-LAW 3. This By-law is to be read with and as amending and extending Whangarei Borough By-law No. 8, 1927, made on the sth December, 1927, Whangarei Borough By-law No. 9, 1931, made on the 20th day of April, 1931, and Whangarei Borough Bylaw No. 23, 1948, made on the 19th day of September, 1946.

CHARGES FOR EXTRAORDINARY SUPPLY OF WATER 4. Section 4 of Whangarei Borough By-law No. 9, 1931. is hereby repealed and in lieu thereof the following is substituted: “Water closets in dwelling houses and all other premises not provided for in sub-section (A) aforesaid, 37/6 for each water closet, per annum.” 5. Section 5 of Whangarei Borough By-law No. 9, 1931, is hereby repealed and in lieu thereof the following is substituted: “Every consumer of water obtaining or using an extraordinary supply for the purpose of watering a garden or lawn, or for other similar purposes shall pay to the Council the sum of 17/6 per annum.

RATES FOR WATER MEASURED BY METER 6. Section 14 of Whangarci Borough By-law No. 8. 1927, is hereby repealed and in lieu thereof the following is substituted: ‘■The rates for the extraordinary supply of water measured by meter shall be: (a) Within the Borough 1/- per 1000 gallons. Minimum charge 24.000 gallons per year. ib) Outside the Borough Boundaries 1/4 per 1000 gallons. Minimum charge 30.000 gallons per half year. (c > The Council reserves the right to fix any special rate as may be agreed on with any Local Authority or large consumer." STANDING TIME ON STREETS 7. Section 6 of Whangarei Borough By-law No. 23. 1946. is hereby amended by deleting from Clause 1 (a) the words “20 minutes" and substituting therefore the words “GO minutes."
