Few Parents Attend Children's Sports

IN every respect but one, the athletic sports conducted by the Whangarei Primary Schools Sports Association at Kensington Park yesterday were an outstanding success.

The disappointing feature was the marked lack of interest on the part of parents.

It was suurprising to see so few taking an interest in the efforts of their children in open competition against the elect of the 24 schools affiliated to the association. However the absence of their parents did not deter the youngsters who entered into the spirit of the occasion with a zest that was good to see.
