SNAKE-BITE CURER' RUSHED TO HOSPITAL

(Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. DESPITE an advertisement on his tent that he “shows how to treat and cure deadly snake bite,” Ram Chandra, 25, known as the “Cobra Boy,” was rushed to hospital from the Royal Show in a serious condition after having been bitten by a venomous tiger snake. .

He was handling some of his 50 snakes before a large audience in the sideshow when the tiger snake bit his finger. Ambulance men found him semiconscious.

His condition this morning was stated to be satisfactory. On each of its first four days, the Royal Show has created an attendance record.

Despite rain yesterday, 115,626 people were present for the official opening by the State Governor (General Northcott).
