TWO NATIVES ESCAPE GALLOWS
(Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Mar. 28. The Governor of the Gold Coast informed the Legislative Council that he had used the prerogative of mercy and commuted the death sentences on the two natives not yet executed for ritual murders to life imprisonment. This is reported by Reuter’s Accra correspondent. Three other natives were hanged on March 24, before notice of appeal could be lodged.
