Engineroom Deserters Hold Up USS Ships

(P.A.) AUCKLAND. This Day A member of the engineroom staff of the Union Steam Ship Company's vessel Waiana jumped from the ship cn to the wharf when the vessel was about to leave for southern ports last evening. Consequently, the ship's sailing was postponed pending replacement.

Another of the company's vessels, the Kaimanawa, which was to have sailed tor Lyttelton today. is being held here awaiting replacement of five members of the engineroom staff'.
