Public Servants To Approach P.M.
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The executive officers of the New Zealand Public Services Association decided yesterday to make an immediate direct apprqpeh to the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) on the refusal by the Public Service Commission to receive any representations from the association.
The acting-president of the association (Mr L. G. Anderson) said that 24,000 public servants had been denied the elementary rights of representation enjoyed by other groups of employees through this action.
“Public servants all over New Zealand are incensed by this decision,” he added. “Protest resolutions have been received from public servants throughout the country, and we cannot believe that the Government will allow this impossible position to continue.”
