TENNIS
Entries in the men’s events for the Whangarei Lawn Tennis Sub-Associa-tion's hard court championships constituted a record when tney closed yesterday.
Fifty-two players are competing in the singles championship while 27 pairs have entered l'or the doubles events. The singles will be played tomorrow and the doubles on Sunday on lire Mairtown Courts.
Cnly 15 women have entered for the singles, while 13 pairs will take part in the doubles. Because of the heavy entries received Die plate events for noth men and women will consist ol players eliminated in the first round only. The draw is ns iollows:
