Yearlings Average 468Gns Today
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Twenty-two lots averaged 4GB guineas at the yearling sales at Trentham this morning, top price being 2000gns for a splendid black colt 'ey the imported horse Balloch from the Absurd mare Black Cat. the colt being a brother to Kuri Temcre and Red Cat. He was bought by a Christchurch owner, A. Lonisson.
Yesterday afternoon Mr F. V. Lysons, of Wellington, purchased the filly by Coronach from Indian Princess on behalf of the Maharajah of Kashmir for 300gns. Other substantial prices paid were 1200gns for the colt by Chatsworth from Knockout, purchased by Mr H. M. Glazebrook, Hastings. Mrs A. Powell, of Auckland, also paid 120()gns for he colt by Beau Repaire from Paiardo.
A colt by Robin Goodfellow from Gay Curtsey went to Mr J. R. McKenzie. Christchurch, for 1300gns. and Mr J. L. Cheesmnn. Wellington, paid 1100 gns for a colt by Balloch from Anophels. Mr C. C. McCarthy. Riccarton, secured a colt by Probation from La Vie for 1400gns, and the Sydney buyer Mr E. W. Hughes bought a colt bj Nizami from This Time for lloOgns.
A filly by Coronach from Bonny Gay was bought by Mr L. Scott, Pukekohe, as agent, fod ilOOgns. Mr T. C. Lowry, Ckawa, purchased a filly by Bulandshar from Jaquett for lOOOgns. A filly by Probation from Valimeen bought by Mr J. R. McKenzie, Christchurch, also realised lOOOgns. as did the filly by Foxbridge from Tripping, purchased by Mr J. L. Cheesman, Wellington.
