N.Z. Croquet Tourney
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The 31st annual tournament of the New Zealand Croquet Council was opened yesterday by the mayor of Lower Hutt (Mr J. W. Andrews), play being held on the lawns of several clubs. Results:— Handicap Singles (one game from each section): Mrs Reese beat Miss Laughton, 26—3: F. C- Bryan beat Mrs Sheargold, 26—10; Miss Lydford beat Lieutenant-Colonel Beamish. 26 7, Mrs Tredgold beat Mrs Allen, 26--6: H. Ford beat Mrs Newman, 26—6; Mrs Pen beat Mrs E. J. Miller, 26—16; Mrs Palmer beat Mrs Bartlett, 26—20; A. Heenan beat Mrs Pepper, 26—18.
