Play In Women's Provincial Champ,

(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. The best game in the first round of match play in the Auckland provincial women’s golf championship at Akarana yesterday was that between Mrs J. L. Colegrove, of Middlemore, and Mrs R. S. Deighton, Titirangi. Mrs Colegrove won at the 21st when she sank a 15ft putt for a birdie 3 to Mrs Deighton’s bogey 4.

Mrs G. W. Hollis was in better form than when she failed to qualify and played well in the first round of the Middlemore Cup, to beat Miss Williams, 1 up.

In the second round, she accounted for Mrs Johnston, 2 up.

First round: Miss H. Hodses beat Mrs S. S. Wilson 4 and 3; Mrs T. W. Hood heal Mrs C. N. Jacobsen 1 up: Mrs J. C'lifT b' - :if Mrs Whale 4 and 3: Mrs C. O'Connor beat Mrs H. McDonald 4 and 3: Mrs P. I?. Glanville beat Mrs E. Copas 4 and 3; Mrs I. Brewer beat Miss E. Wilkinson 3 and 2; Mrs F. Preston beat Mrs A. Birkenhead 3 and 2; Mrs J. S. Colegrove beat Mrs R. S. Deiehton at the 21st.
