Glanville Wins Mt. Denby Labour Day Tournament
Maintaining the splendid form that he had shown right through the tournament, W. J. Glanville won the final of the Whangarei Golf Club's Labour week-end tournament at Mt Denby, beating L. Bennett, 4 and 2. The finalists gave a finished exhibition.
Glanville equalled the scratch score of the course, 73, and would have re-
turned a 71 but for errors on the last two greens. The best-ball' of the two finalists was 66.
In the finals of the two main flight competitions, J. Morgan beat C. A. Jones, 1 up, and A. G. Sheen beat M. Adlam, 5 and 4. The four-ball best-ball bogey was won by S. E. Chappell and L. C. East, of the Orakei club, 5 up. The club is staging a bogey handicap on Saturday. Players will choose partners and opponents.
