Dairy Exports In Coming Months

(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. New Zealand drought last season had resulted in a decrease in the export of Dominion butler to Britain ol' 21.000 tons. This had compelled the British Government recently to reduce the butter ration. Exports in coming months would have a major bearing on the British ration in 1947. said Mr W. E. Hale, chairman, at the annual meeting of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Coy.. Ltd., this afternoon. Butter and cheese figures of 3.159.242 boxes and 274,361 crates respectively, represented Auckland and Northland exports. Production of dairy produce showed a decrease of 22.09 per cent due almost entirely to the dry season. Cheese export would be further reduced this season. Supplies so far were disappointing, but warmer weather should bring improvement in the next few weeks. The drought also caused aJUßoiTnal pressure on space at the freezing works, said Mr Hale.
