Both Parties Accept Plan

(Hoc. 1.30 p.rn.) NEW DELHI, June 25. The Moslem League Working Committee sent a letter to the Viceroy announcing the League's decision to join the Interim Government.

The Moslem League, by acceptance cf the short-term plan, has now accepted the British Cabinet mission’s proposals in their entirety. The Congress Working Committee, after accepting British long-term proposals, instructed the Prime Ministers of eight provinces in which Congress is in power to go ahead and prepare candidates for elect*on to the Constituent Assembly.

Mr Jinnah conferred with Lord Dnvell c/id the British Mission for two and a half hours, after which the Moslem League Working Committee met again. CONGRESS ATTITUDE New Delhi radio says that the president of the Congress Party <Dr Azad) has announced that the party has accepted the British Cabinet Mission’s long-term proposals for a Federal Union of the British Provinces and Princes’ States. Dr Azad confirmed the rejection of the British plans for the Interim Government. Discussions between Indian leaders and tlie British Cabinet Mission had pointed the way to salvaging a good part of the mission's plan, which for a time had seemed completely wr eked, said an earlier despatch from ,!euter’s correspondent in New Deliai. The idea was to secure Congress Party acceptance of the long-term plan even if acceptance of the proposal for an Interim Government should prove impossible. The Moslem League has already announced acceptance of the long-term proposals, which means that unanimity has been achieved on one important aspect of the Cabinet Mission's scheme. Congress Party circles believe that the mission may return to Britain in two or three days to confer with the Cabinet.
