Doctor Late So Miners Stop Work

(Special) WESTPORT, This Day. As a protest against the non-arrival of a doctor who had been appointed for the district by the Health Department, the Millerton mine was idle yesterday. The miners at a recent meeting made a strong protest at the unsatisfactory position concerning medical officers, and it was suggested that because ot the need for urgent attention to injured miners no work should be done at the mines until a permanent appointment was made.
