No April Cut Sn Tobacco
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day Local tobacco and cigarette manufacturers confirm that deliveries for Ihe first half of this month have not ben: cut. and no indication has been given bv merchants' that any cut will be made in the second half ol the month, said the Minister for Supply (Mr Sullivan). in a statement.
Substantial shipments of cigarettes and tobacco were to arrive early this month for several firms, he added.

The rising trend of deposits with the six New Zealand trading banks continued in February, when an increase of £4.906.620 brought the total to the record figure of £150.303.868, Advances expanded £1.089.674 to £52.799.428. bringing the excess of deposits to £97.504.440. which is £19.060.029 higher than the January figure.
