March Rainfall Up To Average
In the last five months only 7.Gin. of rain have fallen in Whangarei. Of this, 4.18 in. were recorded in March, approximately the average for the month. There were 13 days with rain and on two occasions falls of over lin. were recorded in a single day, these going a long way towards relieving drought conditions. However, further rain is needed to ensure the good autumn growth so urgently required. Temperatures were much cooler last night. The rainfall at Whangarei for the present year so far has been 5.20 in. KAIKOHE FALL March rainfall fer Kaikohe, as recorded by Mr J. H. Orr, was 2.2 Gin., the average for 23 years past being 3.Gin. There were 14 days with rain, most of the falls being only slight. In the last four months. Kaikohe has had 4.15 in. of rain, as against an average for the period of 16.24 in.
