GOLF WHANGAREI SEASON OPENS

The Whangarei Golf Club's season was opened at the Mt Denby links on Saturday.
There was a large attendance of ’members and visitors, representing clubs from as far north as Okaihou and Waitangi.
They were welcomed by the president iMr L. R. Nelson), who declared the season open.
The opening-day match was won by Mrs G. Georgeson and L. Bennett. The links withstood the drought well and are ir. excellent order.
