Caught Trigger In Fence

(P.A.) DUNEDIN. This Day.

A well-known farmer in the Cambrians district. Central Otago, Mr John Beattie, was found' dead with a gunshot wound in his head in a paddock near his home last night.

Mr Beattie left home at about 5 p.m. with the intention of shooting rabbits and his body was found alongside a wire fence. It is believed the trigger caught in a wire of the fence and discharged the rifle.
