After 37 years as editor of the Otago Daily Times and 60 years in journalism in Dunedin, Sir James Hutchison, the doyen of newspaper editors in New Zealand is retiring at the end of the month. His services were recognised by the bestowal of a knighthood in the New Year honours in 1936. Sir James will be succeeded as editor by Mr John MofFett, who joined the stall of the Otago Daily Times in 1929.

Mr E. S. Coleman, of Auckland, who has been appointed district employment officer in charge of the National Employment Service office at Whangarei, will take up his duties on Monday. Entering the public service 23 years ago, Mr Coleman was formerly at Kaikohe as district agent in the Social Security Department. Subsequently he served for three and a half years in the army and air force in New Zealand and nine months ago joined the National Service Department.
