Dutch Hand Over S.S. Commander For Trial
(Red. 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 4. The Dutch authorities have handed over to the British the S.S. brigade commander, Eberhard Schoengarth, who gave, the order to break the Dutch dykes and flood North Holland, says Reuter's correspondent on the GermanDutch border. He will be tried as a war criminal and charged, with four others, with the murder of an unknown Allied airman who baled out over Enschede in November, 1944. The .Dutch have requested that accused should be returned after trial for a further trial for other war crimes.
