MacArthur Orders Purge In Japan
TOKIO, January 4.
General MacArthur has ordered the Japanese Government to purge from public, office and the Government all who helped to lead Japan to war. In two far-reaching directives, which pick up where the war criminal lists leave oIT, he has ordered the Government to abolish all ultra-nationalist, terrorist and militarist groups and societies, and to remove from office “all persons who deceived and misled the Japanese people into embarking on world conquest.”
