Monday Heaviest Day For Posting
The peak posting period for Whangarei was Monday. Throughout the day the counter staff of five at the post office was faced with a neverending queue. Yesterday and today posting was brisk but the majority of the mail was letters and cards, the parcels having been mostly disposed of.
The heavy -parcel postage on Monday has been accounted for by the fact that most people did their Christmas shopping for posting on Friday, and during the week-end wrapped and addressed it for Monday. g
