Rotary Holds Annual Meeting, Instals Officers

The annual meeting of the Whangarei Rotary Club, held last evening, was largely attended. Installation of the newly-elected president, Rotarian Walder, was the chief feature of the evening. Cn assuming control, the president set out the lines upon which he wished the club to operate during the coming year, which would mark the coming of age of Rotary in Whangarei and therefore should be celebrated on a big scale. He made a strong appeal to the 42 members individually !to pull their weight in the affairs of the club. Other officers installed were: Vicepresident, Mr S. H. Phillips; secretary, Mr R. Sands; treasurer. Mr C. F. Waugh: sergeant-at-arms, Mr G. Seed; auditor, Mr H. C. Rishworth; directors. Messrs, G. Durney, E. L. G. Abel, -J. Crawford and C. B. Matlhewson.

The reports of the chairmen of the different committees which had functioned during the past year disclosed that satisfactory progress had been made by the club. These reports, and matters arising from them, were discussed, and matters of policy indicated for decision by the new directorate. The meeting was of a happy nature, auguring well for the coming year.
