Mauretania Party Was Too Much For Soldier

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day A soldier on whose behalf it was said that he went to a party and woke up at sea aboard the Mauretania, which recently brought prisoners of war back to New Zealand, was found guilty by a district court-martial at: Trentham of absence without leave. He was Pte. Ronald Leslie Collins. It was said for him that he had only a hazy recollection of events after entering the wharf gates and the following party. At Syduey he reported to a naval lieutenant aboard and was placed under arrest. He was sentenced to 14 days' detention.
