L. Henderson, Fukepoto, near Kaitaia. Mr. J. McM. Henderson, a University student, broke one leg. After receiving medical attention from Dr. U. M. T'orrie, he was conveyed by ambulance to Auckland early oh Friday morning.
K T • • War Tableaux Something unusual, original and particularly impressive, has been planned by the 1914-18 returned soldiers rjf Victoria Valley, near Kaitaia, for a function to be held next Tuesday night as part of the district's peace celebrations. Participants have planned a series of stage tableaux depicting in song and story the struggle for victory and peace over the past six momentous years, the whole presentation having been conceived and written by the Valley people themselves. A lighter side to the evening is promised in the dance to follow. s’: * # ' # Clothing Drive Results Total number of articles of clothing despatched by the Northland Provincial Patriotic Council for the Unrra national clothing drive was 24,282. comprising 22,697 garments, 222 blankets and 1363 boots and shoes. These figures were released yesterday by the secretary -of the council (Mr. L. O. Hall). Altogether two despatches of clothing were sent forward from Northland. The total amount comprised 13 cases of babies’ and toddlers' clothes, 25 cases of men's and boys' clothing, and 31 cases ol women's and girls. Estimated secondhand value of the first consignment sent forward was £4Oll.
