To Purge Nazis From Every Phase Of Life
FRANKFURT-ON-MAIN, Aug. 23,
Nazis will not be allowed to retain wealth, power or influence in any capacity. That is the theme of the new ban by Allied.military authorities in Germany, designed to de-Nazify every phase of German life. Tne Military Governments hitherto have directed their attention mainly to ousting the Nazis from Governmental and public positions. The new directive, however, clearly specifies the banning of Nazis in businesses, professions and other occupations. The directive states: “Those removed will be replaced by persons who, by their political and moral qualities, are deemed capable of assisting in developing genuine democratic institutions in Germany. Removal will mean that persons designated as hostile to the Allied purposes will be disqualified from engaging in their businesses and professions thereafter and will be limited to employment of an unimportant nature. These persons will be banned from receiving pensions, directly or indirectly, or any public funds, and will lose all civil rights.”
