War Cabinet Dissolved
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day The Prime Minister (Hon. P. Fraser) announced today that with the conclusion of hostilities against Japan, the War Cabinet had unanimously concluded that its functions could henceforth be performed by the Government Cabinet, and that, therefore, it
should be dissolved. As a result of this decision, the Hon. A. Hamilton and Hon. W. Perry retire by mutual consent, and have tendered their resignations to the Gov-ernor-General.
Mr Fraser paid a warm tribute to the services rendered by Mr Hamilton and Mr Perry, and also recalled and paid tribute to the services of the late Mr J. G. Coates.
