Silver Wedding - Celebration Held At Tutukaka
About HO relatives and inends met at Mr. and Mrs. "Doc” McKenzie’s residence. Tutukaka, on April 14. to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Badmington. Dancing was the main entertainment of the evening, with songs by Mr. Dahl, and a Highland Fling and sword dance by Miss J. Mason. Mrs. Brown also danced the Highland Fling. Messrs. C. Snell and H. Carey were the highlights of the evening with their comedies, and Master Hugh Smith was much appreciated for his bag pipe music. Supper was served, after which the “bride” and “groom” cut ilv lovely cake, which had been made by Mrs. McKenzie. Mrs. McKenzie proposed a toast to the happy couple and the groom suitably responded, and proposed a toast to the bridesmaid and best man. who were both present, and hoped they would be in the same position at the guests’ geiden wed ding. A toast was next given to the host and hostess of the evening. Dancing was resumed and continued until midnight, when Master Hugh Smith played the hymn, “Abide With Me.” as a finale. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. H. Carey, Mr. and Mrs. C. Snol! and family, Mr. and Mrs. B. Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Dahl, Mr. and Mrs. A. Ferguson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richards and family. Mr. and Mrs. H. Woolley, Mr. and Mrs, T. Clements and family, Mr. and Mrs. Going, and Mesdames Crane. I. Erceg and Smith. Misses Mary Howie, F. Watson. J. Mason. R. Tana. P Mason, S. Ferguson, and Messrs, K. Erceg, Keenan, Gilbert. Tana. J.. H.. and E Wellington, A. Watson and R. Pullman.
