The wedding took place ,at St. Charles’ Church, Rawene, on March 31, of Miss Inez Kelly, eldest, daughter of Mr and Mrs M. C. Kelly, of Waima. to W. 0.1 Geoffrey George "(recently returned from overseas), younger son of Mr George George, of Sydney and Mrs George, of Kaikohe. The Rev. Father Hazetzett officiated and the Rev. Father Murray was the organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of candlelight. satin with a heart shaped neckline with soft niching on the bodice from the point of neckline, full bishop sleeves with cull’s and shoulders inset with hand made Venetian lace. The full bouffant skirt fell softly into a train also inset with Venetian lace. The back bodice was finished to the hips with a row of tiny buttons and loops. The plain tulle veil was held in position with a coronet and orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of roses, Christmas lilies, dahlias and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Audrey Kelly, sister of the bride, wore a frock of honeygold fasconne sheer over taffeta, with a tucked bodice and full circular skirt. _ She wore a Juliet cap of trellised sheer finished with an autumn-tinted spray, and carried a bouquet of bronze dahlias. The flower girl, Miss Diane Kelly, niece of the bride, wore a similar frock with a tucked bodice, full skirt, puffed sleeves and finished with tiny bows at the shoulders and sleeves. She wore a Juliet cap of trellised sheer finished with autumn-tinted rosebuds, and carried a horse-shoe of pompom dahlias. The best man was Mr George George, brother of the bridegroom. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horse-shoe by Maurice Kelly, small nephew of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at Waima, at the home of the bride’s parents, where over 400 guests assembled. Mrs M. C. Kelly received her guests wearing a frock of navy wool crepe and matching accessories. She wore a spray of red carnations and maidenhair fern. The bride travelled in a beige coat frock with brown accessories. W. 0.1 and Mrs George will make their home at Waima. Mr and Mrs Kelly were ably assisted in the wedding arrangements by their very many Maori friends. The bouquets were made by Mrs T. W. McCown, of Rawene.
