Broadcasts Indicate Heavy Tokio Damage
(Rec. 1 p.m.) NEW YORK. Dec. 1. Tokio broadcasts indicate that SuperFortresses have inflicted heavy damage in Tokio, says the United Press. The Premier (Koiso). promised immediate aid to bombed-out householders. School hours have been shortened, children leaving at; 11 a.m.
Koiso, denouncing the bombing as part of the war of nerves, praised Japanese bravery and appealed for energetic aid in extinguishing fires. He pointed out that the attack exclusively affected residential and shopping areas.
