(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) LONDON. Dec. 1. Indian and British troops of the sth Army progressed along the Fa-enza-Florence road, meeting only light resistance, says an Associated Press correspondent in Italy. The Germans appeared to be straightening the oulge between Bologna and Faenza. The Germans, in order to carry out this movement are drawing in troops from the mountains.
There is heavy fighting on the Bth Army front around Alberto, northwest of Faenza, but there is no change in the position. Eighth Army infantry and tanks attacked between Montone and Lamonc Rivers. Patrols found the Germans dug in on high ground behind the Lamone river. Eighth Army troops east of Faenza have gained some ground between the Lamonc and Mont one Rivers, states todays Allied communique. Activity on the remainder of this front is confined 1o patrolling. British and Indian troops of the nth Army occupied several heights previously held by the enemy. The front elsewhere is quiet.
