Six-Bedroom State Houses Being Built
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. Houses with foul' to six bedrooms are being built by the Government at Point Chevalier to meet the needs of targe families. In the first block of this t%,pe, eight dwellings have now reached the stage where they are covered in. and the interior work is well under way. A number are also being built at New Lynn. The houses are being constructed from large sections transported from the demolished Avondale Camp, but their appearance when completed will be that of new houses. So far 65 houses of varying sizes have been built from materials from the camp, and a few more will be constructed before the materials are all used. It is expected that houses with five and six bedrooms will accommodate the largest families that have applied for State homes. In some instances these families include 10 or 11 children.
