Waiotira Nears 200 P.C. In Victory Loan

Dramatic developments in Northland Victory Loan investments occurred yesterday. With subscriptions equal to 130 per cent. Waiotira leapt from seventh position to the lead of Northland districts with a total investment of 199 per cent. The day also brought record Northland investments, the day's total being £30.720. nearly doubling the previous best day’s total. Five Northland centres have now exceeded their objectives while four more are within easy striking distance. Waiotira. with its sensational 199 per cent leads the field, followed by Russell. which previously had held the lead throughout the campaign, with 143 per cent. Paparoa 134 per cent. Awanui 126 per cent and Kerikeri 102 | per cent. Ruawai, with 96 per cent, is running close to its objective while Rnwene 95 per cent. Kawakawa 94 per cent and ITerekino 85 per cent have to raise less than £2OOO between them to all gain their objectives. Reproduction today of yesterday's investments will bring another big change in the Northland list and with only today and tomorrow for investment. the loan closing tomorrow night, it is anticipated that the present figure of 69.3 per cent, of Northland’s objective of £525.600 will be improved greatly. Waiotira has set a fine example for other Northland centres and the final two days of the appeal should bring noteworthy responses.
