Shipping Bottleneck

(P.A.J CHRISTCHURCH, This Day Approximately 1300 tons of general merchandise is being held at Christchurch awaiting shipping space for the North Island. Although shipping is expected within a few days, it is doubtful whether the space available will be sufficient to lift the whole of the accumulated stock. Goods for transport to the North Island have been piling up all this week, until at present a bottleneck has been created. A good deal of ihe difficulty over shiping merchandise is caused by priority shipments.
